Edwin Wall was the tenth child of Thomas Wall & Mary ? born July-September, 1851 at Wednesbury, Staffs.
In 1861 Edwin was living with his parents & 3 brothers at Cross St, Wednesbury.
Edwin was the only son at home in the 1871 census & they were still living at Cross St, at no. 55. Edwin was working as an iron roller.
Edwin married Sarah Hannah Marshall on September 22nd, 1873 at St Michael & All Angels, Neepsend, Sheffield. Witnesses at the wedding were William Hunter? & Emma Evans. Sarah Hannah Evans was born c1840 at Sheffield, Yorks, the daughter of John Evans, a schoemaker. Sarah had previously been married to Joseph Marshall, a machine grinder, who died in 1872 at Huddersfield.
Edwin & Sarah were living at 52 Dane St, Brightside Bierlow, Sheffield
in 1881 & Edwin was a plate mill fireman.
In 1891 Edwin & Sarah were at 31Woodbine Rd, Brightside Bierlow & Edwin was now described as a general labourer.
By 1901 they were living at Court 2, House 4, Chambers Lane, Brightside Bierlow & Edwin was still a general labourer. They appear not to have had any children.
Sarah died in July-September 1907, aged 64, her death being registered at Wortley, W. Yorks.
Edwin remarried in April-June 1908 at Wortley, his second wife being Emily Kitson. Emily was born Jan-March 1861 at Ecclesfield, W. Yorks, the daughter of Elizabeth & George Kitson, a file cutter.
In 1911 Edwin & Emily were living at 46 Sheffield Rd, Penistone, W. Yorks & Edwin was a metal stacker at the steel works. With them was Emily’s son Harry Kitson (30), a cordwainer. They also had a boarder, Fred Seaton.
Emily died Oct-December 1917, aged 56, at Penistone, W. Yorks.
Edwin, aged 66, married for the third time on August 17th, 1918 at the Parish Church of Penistone. He married Mary Elizabeth Newton, a 41 year old spinster of Penistone, the daughter of James Newton (deceased). One of the witnesses at the wedding was Fred Seaton who had been boarding with Edwin & his previous wife Emily in 1911.
Edwin died April-June 1935, aged 84, at Penistone, W. Yorks.
